Empowering students as active agents in the feedback process is essential for their learning. This requires students to proactively seek, process, and utilize feedback effectively. Recent research has delved into the factors that influence students' self-feedback, employing a structural equation modeling analysis within an extended theory of planned behavior framework.
The study highlights the importance of students' attitudes towards feedback, perceived behavioral control, and social norms in shaping their engagement with feedback mechanisms. By understanding these influences, educators can better support students in becoming more self-directed learners.
The findings suggest that fostering a positive attitude towards feedback and enhancing students’ confidence in their ability to act upon it can significantly improve their learning outcomes. Additionally, creating an environment that encourages open communication and peer support can further motivate students to engage actively in the feedback process. This holistic approach not only enriches the educational experience but also prepares students for lifelong learning.
