BYU Department of Psychology Seeks Faculty for Fall 2026

The Brigham Young University (BYU) Department of Psychology is excited to announce the opening of four full-time professorial-track positions for the Fall Semester of 2026. The department is particularly interested in candidates specializing in Developmental Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or Social/Health Psychology.

BYU emphasizes a strong commitment to student mentoring, fostering a collegial environment, and promoting open and reproducible research practices. The department values the diverse backgrounds and experiences of its community members, believing that these differences enhance the educational setting and contribute to a sense of belonging centered around the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Qualified candidates should possess robust research skills, a clear research agenda, and a strong record of peer-reviewed publications and student mentorship. A PhD in psychology or a related field is required by the start date. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate excellence in teaching and be prepared to fulfill citizenship responsibilities within the department and university. Preference will be given to those who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and who can support the university's academic and religious missions.

Applicants are encouraged to submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, research samples, and a mission alignment statement, along with a one-page statement detailing their commitment to promoting inclusion and belonging. The review process for applications will commence after the closing date of August 1, 2025.
